Common questions
- Do I need to install an app?
- No. ScanPaperwork is a document scanner that runs in the browser on iPhone, Android, Windows, Mac, and Chromebook. Open the page, take a photo or pick a file, and download the PDF.
- Are my documents uploaded anywhere?
- No. Every page is processed on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is kept after you close the tab.
- What can I scan to PDF?
- Photos of paper from your camera, JPG, PNG, WebP and most other image formats, and PDFs you already have. A document holds up to 30 pages.
- How does it fix a crooked photo?
- It finds the edges of the paper, corrects the perspective so the page comes out straight and rectangular, and applies a filter that evens out the lighting and removes shadows.
- Is it free?
- Yes. There is no account, no ads, and nothing to pay. Anyone can support the developer, but nothing is behind that.
- Can I scan more than one page?
- Yes. Add pages from the camera or from files, reorder or remove them, apply one filter to all of them, and download a single PDF.
- Can I turn images into a PDF, or make a PDF smaller?
- Yes. Convert to PDF joins photos, images, and PDF pages into one PDF at full size and in their original colors. Compress PDF re-encodes a PDF's pages at a lower resolution so it fits an email or a form upload. Both run on your device.
Private by design, temporary by choice
Files stay in this tab. Nothing is uploaded and no drafts are saved, so download your work before you close or refresh.
